(More customer reviews)This case was not my first choice, and frankly I only bought it as a "temporary" case before the one I really wanted was available.However, I loved this case so much that I'm not going to buy another case! (at 10x the price...)

I was an early iPad adopter, and spent a great deal of time evaluating leather iPad cases before I made this purchase.My main use for the iPad is as an eReader and general purpose browsing machine, and there are a few key product attributes that I found to be more important than others:

1) Feel in hand.If you've ever had the chance to hold the Apple iPad case in your hand, you will notice that the side seams are rather sharp.I can't imagine holding that case in my hand while I read a book with a sharp ridge cutting into my palm.This case has rounded leather edges that are stitched below the surface of the leather.The feel is rather luxurious and very comfortable, and is very similar to holding a book.

2) Will it fall out?Most of the cases out there have either a side opening with a snap that does not hold the iPad in place with the cover open, or they use elastic over the corners of the iPad.Neither are very secure for everyday use in my opinion.This case uses a top opening, and while the snap also does not hold the iPad while the cover is open, the top opening is narrow enough so that there is no way for the iPad to slip out without holding the thing upside-down and trying to do so.

3) Can I get clean WiFi or 3G reception?Again, the top opening of this case is key, as the 3G window is completely unobstructed once you open the cover.Side opening cases clearly interfere with reception and routinely drop at least 1 bar compared to this case.

Areas for improvement:

1) Ambient light sensor is occluded.No big deal to me, but may be to some.

2) Snap alignment could be better.You have to move the cover slightly back and forthfor the thing to line up just right.

3) No stand.Only important when you want to watch a movie on a plane, but it is definitely a nice feature to have.

Again, this wasn't my first choice, but I'm sure glad it was my first purchase!I don't believe that you can find a better value for your money.
