1)My laptop tends to run very hot on its own and this fan kept it much cooler than it would be otherwise and allowed me to work with my laptop on my desk for hours.
2)Although the stand is at an angle it holds the laptop securely so it does not slide down or fall off.
CONS:
1)If you shift the laptop or push the computer across the desk there is a very good chance that the leg will fold in causing the stand to collapse and the laptop to rock back.
2)Once the stand has collapsed it is finicky to get back in place you have to pick up the laptop and yank the foot out again. Every time I did it I wondered if I would break the foot permanently.
3)The cord that hooks it into the USB slot is not long so if you have a 17" laptop, like mine, it is stretched to its limit and you need to adjust the laptop off center to provide a shorter path to stretch the wire (in all fairness this may have been part of the reason my stand collapsed so frequently)
4)Eventually the flimsiness of the product caused its demise. The power port is held in by a small glob of what looks to be glue from a hot glue gun. When this went out the plug was lost inside the stand. I tried to fix it as it is easy to open up but one of the wires fell out and I could not find a way to keep it in without holding it in place.
All things considered I am sure it gave a longer life to my laptop and it sure made it more pleasant to type (what with my wrists not catching on fire and all). That being said the design and materials used were way too flimsy and I will be trying something else next time.
